Supporting Recovery Through Employment (SRTE)
SRE provided training, credentialing, participant stipends, employer on-the-job training, case management, and employment placement to graduates of treatment and recovery centers who are looking for employment opportunities.
Optimizing EHRs for Health Centers
Leveraging federal grant funds and in collaboration with Clinovations Healthcare and Huron Consulting, HTA helped facilitate system upgrades and enhancements at multiple MD and DC based federally qualified health centers. This included platform technical upgrades, addressing operational pain points, clinical documentation and end-user satisfaction.
Building Telehealth Capacity for Clinics
HTA partnered with Zane Networks and MedChi to conduct a telehealth webinar series to help providers in underserved communities better serve their patients. Topics included an overview of legislation, reimbursement, and real-world telehealth in peer practices; using telehealth to improve healthcare access; and using partnerships to advance and coordinate care.
Mentoring to Advance Social Impact Entrepreneurs
HTA has undertaken numerous coaching and mentoring activities in the Healthcare and Tech startup ecosystems through the Maryland Tech Council VMS, NWF Startup Showcase, Maryland Innovation Center Pitch Competitions, Loyola University’s Baltipreneurs Accelerator, Upsurge Equitech, UMD’s Grid Pitch, J&J/VilCap’s HealthEquity program, and others.
Support for Disabled Populations
Health Tech Alley is providing technical and business assistance to advance support for this disadvantaged population. This assistance includes include access to community resources, free complex durable medical equipment and improved access to primary care. Engagement incudes strategic planning, community partner development, and community funding cultivation.
Career Pathways for Entry-Level Healthcare
Through funding from the MD DOL, HTA offers a variety of training and placement services to help worker credentials and meet employer needs in entry-level roles across administration, direct care and health technology occupations. Job placement opportunities have included large medical systems, healthcare agencies, adjacent community impact organizations.
Direct Care Workforce Innovation
Through funding from the MD DOL, HTA offers braided funding and workforce support services for workers and employers to meet community and patient healthcare needs. Through defined employer collaboratives and in the occupations of CNA/GNA, nursing assistant, and personal aides, we offer support for recruiting, training, certifications, OJT, supportive services, etc.
Apprenticeships for Immigrants and New Americans
Health Tech Alley advised the Asian American Center of Frederick on a recent federal award to provide pre- and registered apprenticeship opportunities. State-based Infrastructure for Youth Apprenticeships
As a member-consortium of like-minded nonprofits (including Carroll Technology & Innovation Council) and the Maryland Center for Construction Engineering and Innovation, we launched the Maryland Apprenticeship Connector. This initiative, funded through the Maryland State Department of Education, provides technical and business assistance to employers and career seekers.
Partnering with HBCU Students to Launch Community Health Projects
With support from a federally funded US EDA grant, Historically Black College and Universities Student Teams from Bowie State, Morgan State and Howard University designed and implemented community health projects: built community garden, launched diabetes decision support tool, designed mobile health app, increased nonprofit donor registry, raised awareness for a special population health condition.
